Every memecoin trade starts with one decision: when to buy. A bot makes it with an entry rule, the condition that must be true before it spends your SOL.

This guide compares three, each run by its own AllenHark bot: buy a token that's already running (the Solana Momentum Sniper), buy when its market cap rises through your level (the Solana MC Breakout Sniper), or buy after a large sell knocks the price down (the Solana Dip Sniper). No promises: an entry rule decides when you buy, not whether the token goes up.

Disclosure: AllenHark sells the three bots described here. Nothing in this guide is financial advice.

The short answer

  • Momentum buys new Pump.fun tokens once real buying shows up. It can buy the top of a burst.
  • MC Breakout buys when a token's market cap crosses your level with buying behind it. Many tokens turn back right after.
  • Dip buys tokens on your watchlist after a large sell. A dip can be the start of a longer fall.
  • The exits are nearly the same in all three.
  • Pick by how you trade, then test in practice, with virtual SOL.

Entry rules and exits

The entry rule is what really differs. The exits, the rules that sell, are close to identical:

Protect gains works like a stepped trailing stop: once a trade is up, it sells a share for each step the price drops from its peak, and everything at the bottom of the band. In Simple mode, take profit is one sell: everything at 1.5x, 2x, 3x or your own multiple, or half there with the rest left to ride.

Three starters set Style, spend per token, take profit and stop loss at once. A new bot starts on Balanced, with Speed on Fast and no budget or daily loss limit until you set them:

The Solana Momentum Sniper: buy what's already running

The Solana Momentum Sniper watches every new Pump.fun token from its first trade. Over short rolling windows it measures market cap, buying share (how much of the trading is buying) and volume against market cap. A token that never builds momentum is dropped after 10 minutes; one that rugs, at once.

What triggers a buy: two checks agreeing on the last window (10 seconds to start). Is it in your league: market cap, buying share, volume and the creator's buy inside your ranges? And is it running now: buying share and volume past your buy signal? It buys a token once, and again only after a wait (5 minutes to start), at most 20 buys an hour. Launches made inside another program, most often bundles, are skipped unless you turn them on.

Style setsSaferBalancedRiskier

Buy signal: buying share at least85 %80 %72 %
Buy signal: volume against market cap at least70 %60 %50 %
Sells everything if the price falls from its peak by35 %50 %55 %
Sells everything if the pool's SOL falls from its peak by25 %30 %35 %
Protect gains: starts / sells everything, below the peak4 % / 8 %5 % / 10 %8 % / 18 %

Style also sets the market cap range, which this bot measures in US dollars, and the creator-sold and buying-fell rug checks; the settings reference lists them. It keeps trading a token on PumpSwap after it graduates, and Raydium CPMM and Meteora DAMM v2 are Beta, off to start.

Suits: traders who want Pump.fun launches without racing for the first block, and accept fewer buys.

How it goes wrong: it buys late into a move. Waiting for momentum means paying more than the first buyers, and early holders often sell into exactly the buying that triggered you. A burst can be the top. Rug checks act on what they see: a creator can sell, or a pool drain, before a check sells for you.

The Solana MC Breakout Sniper: buy when it crosses your level

The Solana MC Breakout Sniper watches one of three sets of tokens: New launches on the launchpads you pick or Just graduated pools, each followed for 30 minutes to start, or My watchlist, up to 100 CAs by default. It trades Pump.fun, Raydium LaunchLab and Meteora DBC, including the launchpads built on them, plus PumpSwap, Raydium CPMM and Meteora DAMM v2.

What triggers a buy: an upward crossing of your level, set in SOL or US dollars (a new bot starts in US dollars; switch to SOL if that's how you think). With filters on, it starts following a token's trades at half the level, so the filters have a full window at the crossing. Every filter you have on must pass: how soon after launch, the buying share and SOL traded over the last minute, the pool size if you set one, your blocklist and your limits. A token is bought once at most.

Tokens held at once258
Protect gains: starts / sells everything, below the peak5 % / 15 %10 % / 30 %15 % / 40 %
Sells what's left after30 min1 hour2 hours

Two things to know. Pool holds at least is off to start: set a floor to skip thin pools. And every Style turns on Only within, so a watchlist token that launched before the bot started has no known age and is skipped until you turn that filter off.

Suits: traders who think in levels ("buy once it reaches 100 SOL with buyers behind it").

How it goes wrong: false breakouts. Crossing a level says nothing about what comes next. Round numbers draw a crowd, and some traders sell into the buyers a crossing brings in. Buying can be faked: wallets working together can pass the buying-share and volume filters, then reverse. And young tokens' pools are often thin, so your buy and your sell both move the price.

The Solana Dip Sniper: buy after a big sell

The Solana Dip Sniper watches only your watchlist (up to 100 CAs by default), on every pool each token trades on, after graduation too.

What triggers a buy: a large sell, at least 5 SOL or 3 % of the pool's SOL to start, that leaves the price below its high of the last 5 minutes by at least your Price fell at least. Then the guards. It skips the dip if the seller is the creator; if the pool's SOL fell more than you allow (money leaving, not a dip); after too many sells in a row; if it bought this token in the last 10 minutes, or 3 times today (to start); or if the pool is under your floor (off to start), or your blocklist or limits say no.

Wait for a rebound can hold the buy until a few buys follow, or the price ticks up 3 % from its low (to start), within 60 seconds. No rebound, no buy.

Skip if the pool lost more than30 %50 %60 %

Tokens held at once, the protect-gains band and the time limit follow the MC Breakout Sniper's Styles.

Suits: traders who follow their own tokens and want them cheaper after a big seller has passed. It takes the most of your time: quiet tokens mean no dips.

How it goes wrong: catching a falling knife. The guards skip the clearest signs of a rug, but a token can pass them and keep falling, or go to zero. Large holders sell in parts, so your dip may be the first of several. Waiting for a rebound skips more falling knives, and buys higher when the rebound is real.

One made-up price path, three entries

An illustration, not data: an invented Pump.fun token, all three bots on Balanced, an MC Breakout level of 100 SOL, and the token on the Dip watchlist.

Change the path and each rule fails its own way. Had the minute-1 burst been the top, Momentum bought the top. Had the token turned back at 100 SOL, MC Breakout bought a false breakout. Dip's buy was a falling knife: the creator sold after it, so no guard could see it.

How to pick

  • New launches, hands-off, no list to keep: Momentum, or MC Breakout on New launches if you have a level in mind.
  • You'd rather skip the bonding curve: MC Breakout on Just graduated, or the Solana Graduation Sniper.
  • You research tokens and want them cheaper: Dip. To buy strength on the same tokens instead, MC Breakout on My watchlist.
  • Little time to watch: not Dip. It's only as good as your watchlist.

If two fit, run both in practice and let your results decide.

Test them in Practice mode first

Each bot starts in practice: the real market, virtual SOL (10 SOL to start), nothing sent. Fills count the pool's fee, slippage, the network fee and the relay tip.

To compare entry rules fairly:

  1. Use the same spend per token, take profit and stop loss, so only the entry differs.
  2. Run them over the same days, long enough to see bad days too.
  3. Compare trades and skips (Activity gives each skip's reason), the misses and which filter stopped them, the spread of PnL rather than the total, the worst trade and worst day, and how the exits behaved: did protect gains sell too early, or the time limit cut a trade still running?
  4. Change one setting at a time. On Strategy, the practice comparison replays the last 7 days with your change next to your current settings, with the worst day and worst trade.

Practice is a guide, not a forecast: it can't know how other bots would react to your live buys. Going live takes SOL in your bot wallet and your PIN; start small, and you can go back to practice from the bot's menu. See the quick start, or try the Momentum, MC Breakout and Dip demos in your browser, with no account.

What all three share

  • Data and sending: market data from the AllenHark market feed over QUIC, and like every AllenHark bot, each detects in 0.2 ms. Trades go through AllenHark Relay by default, same block at 0.1 ms over QUIC; you can add your own fast senders in Advanced.
  • Non-custodial: each runs on your own server, and your key stays there.
  • Simple by default, with Advanced for everything else. Your server enforces your budget and daily loss limit once you set them.
  • Mayhem Mode coins, whose prices swing hard, are on to start; you can turn them off.
  • Plans are monthly: see all AllenHark bots and pricing.

What none of them do

  • Predict price. Each trigger is a condition on trades that already happened.
  • Promise a profit. Nobody can, and AllenHark doesn't.
  • Tell real buyers from coordinated ones for certain.
  • Stop every loss. A price can drop a long way between two updates, and a rugged token may not sell at all.
  • Skip fees. Every trade pays them, winning or losing.

Most new tokens go to zero. Only trade SOL you can afford to lose; read the risk disclosure and Limits and safety first.

FAQ

What is an entry rule in a trading bot?

The condition that makes it buy: buying pressure past a threshold, a market cap crossing a level, or a large sell dropping the price. Exits, such as TP/SL, decide when it sells.

Which entry rule is best for memecoins?

None is best everywhere. Momentum and breakout rules buy strength and lose when a move stops; a dip rule buys weakness and loses when the fall goes on. Pick the one that fits how you trade, and test it in practice.

Do these bots buy the same token twice?

MC Breakout never does. Momentum can after a wait, 5 minutes to start. Dip can after 10 minutes, up to 3 times a day to start.
